| First Steps Pistol Course |
This course focuses on basic safety, firearm responsibility, pistol maintenance and hands on experience. This course is for anyone over the age of 18 interested in learning in a safe, non-competitive environment with NRA certified firearms instructors. Pre-registration is necessary and space is limited. The four hour classes will be action specific. Shooters will need to bring their own handgun and ammunition.
There is no substitute for safe training that supports a lifetime of firearms safety.

| Basic Defensive Handgun 1 |
8 hour course designed to build on skills a shooter has learned at an introductory level. Additionally this course will strongly reinforce fundamental shooting skills and then move on to modern combat pistol techniques in faster paced defensive shooting drills. A student will advance to skills that will reduce their reaction time, allow them to shoot faster with higher degree of accuracy, and increase their confidence with a handgun.
The Basic Defensive Pistol course is fast paced with 80% range training time to prepare shooters to defensive shooting situations.

Required Gear: Quality Defensive Semi-Automatic or Revolver Pistol (Minimum 38 Special/9mm), 300 rounds minimum, 3 high capacity magazines/3 Speed Loaders or 5 low capacity magazines (1911 style) minimum, strong side holster or concealment holster, double magazine holder, 5 snap caps for respective firearm, a minimum of 3 magazines and minimum of 300 rounds (more is encouraged but not required) ear and eye protection. Shooter must have appropriate outer wear for weather and may use optional knee and elbow pads.

| Basic Defensive Handgun 2|
Defensive Pistol 2 is designed for the experienced pistol shooter who is seeking to take marksmanship and gun handling skills to the next level. The focus of this course is stress efficiency of movement, high repetition and quicker engagements. Shooters will learn to clear malfunctions and manipulate their pistol with reaction hand and shooting hand, shoot in low light situations and effectively use cover. To test skills learned in DP2, students will be challenged with a high stress scenario environment. Due to the level of skill required, DP1 is required.
The course will begin after the conclusion of the August 27th Basic Defensive I course and will continue into the night. If you have a carbine or defensive shotgun now is the time to get those ready because they are optional.
Required Gear:
• Quality Defensive Semi-Automatic or Revolver Pistol
• Optional Carbine or Defensive Shotgun (Single/Double Point sling required)
• Hand held and/or weapon mounted light (spare batteries)
• 500 rounds minimum (more is encouraged but not required)
• 3 high capacity magazines or 5 low capacity magazines minimum.
• 5 inert training rounds (Snap Caps)
• Strong side holster or concealment holster.
• Double magazine holder,
• Ear and eye protection.
Training registration will be from 6:30pm to 7pm at the Event Center – Training to follow
Course finish time will depend on the shooters ability and confidence with drills, plan for 5 hours.
