The Summer Education Series at the Buffalo Chip Shooting Complex continues with the First Step Pistol Course scheduled for September 11. The 4-hour course is taught by an NRA Certified Pistol Instructor and serves as an introductory course that presents SD gun laws, NRA gun safety rules, pistol operation and shooting fundamentals. This course combines classroom and range time, making it especially valuable for first-time pistol users.

This is the first course of the season with more courses scheduled through out the summer season. Courses require pre-registration which can be done by calling Stephanie at the Buffalo Chip Shooting Complex ( 605.347.9000 ). The $45 course fee will ensure that participants are provided all materials and a certification after completing the 2.5 hours of important classroom instruction and training on the range with certified firearm instructors. Anyone over the age of 18 who is interested in learning about pistol firearm safety should register for this class. No firearms or ammunition will be provided. Students are encouraged to bring their pistol for the live-range portion of the course. Click here for more information, dates and registration information on the Calendar.
